The frame is the part that holds everything in stable alignment against your face. A frame that has gone brittle, cracked, or lost its grip on the cushion will leak and shift no matter how new the cushion is — which is why a mask that still leaks after a fresh cushion and new headgear usually needs this part.
*The frame contains no magnetic components, but the AirFit F40 headgear uses magnetic clips. Replacing the frame does not make the complete mask system magnet-free — see the magnet safety notice below.

Rather than purchasing an entirely new mask, this replacement frame lets you restore a stable, secure fit while retaining your existing cushion and headgear. This frame contains no magnetic components. However, the AirFit F40 headgear uses magnetic clips, which may interfere with certain implanted medical devices or metallic implants — including metallic haemostatic clips in the head and metallic splinters in the eye.
Replacing the frame does not remove the magnets from your mask system. A non-magnetic version of the AirFit F40 mask is available for users with contraindications to magnet exposure. If you have any implanted medical device, read the official user guide and the magnet contraindications document linked below, and consult your healthcare provider before use.
This is a replacement accessory and not a complete CPAP mask system. It is for use only as part of a complete, compatible ResMed AirFit™ F40 Full Face Mask, used for CPAP or bilevel therapy prescribed by a qualified healthcare professional.
Inspect the frame regularly for signs of wear, cracks, or damage and replace as needed, as a compromised frame reduces therapy effectiveness. Never block or cover the mask vent holes.
